About Me

I have adopted 4 children from a specific orphanage in Eastern Europe and I want to see more children redeemed from that orphanage and brought into families. I want to make sure that the children who are still left behind in that place are never forgotten.

Gathering them from the East: God's Timing#links

Gathering them from the East: God's Timing#links

I love this post about God's timing.  Some times it is so hard to imagine why all the delays occur.  She did too, but she figured out how God worked it all together for good!

The Picture Collage Arrived

Our sweet Cody got his picture collage on Friday.  His foster mother said that he just kept "counting".  I can imagine his cute little self counting the pictures over and over!

I had the collage put together online with pictures of the kids (most of them two kids per snapshot), a picture of Brent and I together, and a picture of Cody in the mix.  I wanted him to see himself as part of the family.  I wanted it to start to form a place in his head that he is a part of this family.

Can you imagine being 4 and always being in foster care since you can remember?  Then imagine that you get pictures of 14 people who are your "new family"!  What on earth must be going through his cute little head???  He has to have help to even count that far!

What he can't possibly understand is that those 14 people already LOVE him so very much!  His brother asks nearly every day when he will get home because he hates going to sleep in "their" room without Cody here too.  They talk about how much fun they will have playing with him.  They talk about where he will sit in the van.  They wonder what his favorite foods are.  They can't wait to introduce him to the people and places that are important to us.

He couldn't possibly know how much his new mommy has loved him for almost 2 years now.  He can't count as high as the tears I have shed asking the Lord to let me be his mommy.  He can't count as far as all the times I have prayed that God would speed this all up and let him land in my arms.  He has no idea how hard it is to not be able to kiss him goodnight and say prayers with him.  He has no idea how many times his name is on my lips and in my heart, along with those of the children in Eastern Europe, as I drift to sleep longing to have them all safely home.

I hope soon that I am taking his picture with all of his siblings.  I can't describe the unspeakable joy that will fill my heart.  I pray that God is preparing his heart now and helping him to understand the love that is awaiting him with his FOREVER FAMILY!
